The Rainbow Children’s Home current team comprises of a:
1. Board of Trustees who manages the Trust addressing issues of governance, financial, fund raising, legal, PR and the image of the Home.
2. Project Committee reporting to the Board of Trustees manages day-to-day issues of the project build
3. Building Project Team consists of professionals within the construction industry who are responsible for the build, recommendations and advise to ensure that all legal requirements are met within the context of construction.
4. Fundraising Committee which is a team responsible for fundraising for the build of Rainbow Children’s Village.
4. A Management Team will be put in place once the build is complete and will manage RCV on a day-to-day basis with suitably qualified staff with a management contract awarded.
Whilst there are different ‘arms’ with clear mandates, all teams work to a common goal. All members of the various teams/committees with the exception of the professionals and the Administration Staff donate their time and expertise with NO CHARGE to RCV.
To positively impact in the reduction of the mortality rate of childhood cancer sufferers in Zimbabwe.
Our solution is to create a home that provides a tranquil, clean environment in which children can recuperate after treatment, before making the journey back home.
The facility’s design is inspired by the arcs of the rainbow. Each unit will take its colour after one of the colours of the rainbow.
